Wedding Planning + Day of Coordinating

A MINNESOTAN WEDDING PLANNER WHO…

…makes you laugh during the most stressful parts of planning your wedding, like when your dad wants his cousins to be included in the guest list

…plans weddings where guests have minimal opportunities to get cranky, like when it’s Minnesota and October and Snowing

…creates calm and conquers chaos, like when the shuttle bus is stuck in traffic or someone knocks over their glass of beer on the guest book table

 plan the wedding you want
with the guidance you think you don’t need

(don’t be a wack-a-doodle, grab my helping hand and hold on).

HOW DO YOU PLAN A WEDDING WITH A DAY OF COORDINATOR?
Over “weekend” zoom calls and succinct emails, I’ll push you through your planning process. Together we navigate what I’ve seen to be the most stressful bits of planning; using gentle sarcasm, a tiny bit of couples therapy-ing, and by forcing you to be prepared. I create the to do lists, you make the checkmarks.

HOW DO YOU TELL YOUR WEDDING PARTY/FAMILY/GUESTS WHAT IS GOING ON FOR YOUR WEDDING?
Wedding planning doesn’t stop with the three of us (you, me, fiancé). It must bleed into the peripheries. Your vendors, duh, but also parents and siblings, and grandma Jill, and Uncle Toby - who is also officiating; your readers, ushers, Parents of the flower girl, your friends from Uni (as the Britts say) etc. etc. All the people you are expecting to arrive early, be in a photo, bring breakfast or pack up the leftover donuts, we need to be communicating to them as well. Let’s use our spiffy Aisle Planner Timeline to do that… lemme add it to the checklist.

HOW DO YOU GET ORGANIZED TO PLAN YOUR WEDDING?
What’s life without a checklist? Using the almighty Aisle Planner (read: a beautiful online wedding planning platform) and accompanied by our robust, task-oriented, tangent-laden meetings; we will get organized, stay organized, and likely impress the shit out of guests and vendors alike with our organizational skills.

WHAT DO YOU GET WHEN YOU PLAN YOUR WEDDING WITH SIXPENCE EVENTS AS YOUR COORDINATOR?
I vow to attend your wedding with a happy face. I vow to be there for you, to straighten your boutonnière, to strap your shoes when you can’t find your feet under your mountainous skirting. I vow to remind you to eat, to hydrate you, to hold your hand and hop up and down with you when you’re so nervous-excited you could barf. I vow to be kind to your mother, your sister, your mother’s sister, no matter how bossy they are, even if they are barely holding their own shit together. Cue the Friends theme song.

“I'm not exaggerating when I say that our wedding day was the most relaxing, care-free day we could have imagined, all thanks to JoSEY.”

I’m a wedding planner with a soft spot for non-conformity

In college I was passionate about biology, sociology and planning, and while the first two are definitely integrated into my everyday life, planning has become the perfect outlet for my creativity and a J-O-B. As a Minneapolis-based wedding planner with 9 seasons under my belt (er, fanny pack), I’ve developed an intimate relationship with nuptial celebrations.

HAPPY

I am committed to test driving all of the calming tactics I possibly can, and then encouraging you to do the same to keep your cool during your engagement. Things like fresh air, gardening, yoga, reading and meditation keep my brain from buzzing out of control.

HILARIOUS

I use laughter to protect myself (and others) from the many stressors that accompany throwing a party for your closest 100 friends and family. I also wear airy shirts (sweat-stain proof) and reliable footwear. This isn’t my first rodeo, I come prepared.

HUMAN

Caring about the Earth and its inhabitants has been inching its way to the top of my must do list for quite some time. Between composting, planting native flowers, practicing minimalism and being vegan; I am fervently interested in going green, saving the seas, and protecting the forests.

“Josey was the greatest and my friends and family all commented on how amazing she was! She was there for us before the wedding, getting us organized AF with resources she provided for us. She made sure we had all of our essentials organized, and that everything important to us was especially cared for.“

work smarter, not harder

4 Hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss. When I read that book years back I honestly couldn’t see it working out. I mean when I started this business I hit the ground sprinting, picture a treadmill on level 10 with my short legs hovering over the tread of death... andddddd GO!

Now that I’ve been practically forced to jam the speed down! down! down! (thank you motherhood with an unexpected side of pandemic), I’ve achieved a harmonious combo of work and life. As a rule I am limiting my bookings to 15 per year. As such I am currently booking for 2025.
