I can’t have favorites in my life.

I mean I do, my favorite person is my husband, but that’s it. I try to just appreciate everyone for who and what they are. #sappyshit

HOWEVER I adore clients like Tom and Ashley not to mention a wedding at Hyland Hills and in the fall. They were terribly organized, asked enough questions to make me fee like an expert and took just the right amount of my ideas to stroke my ego and make their wedding day easier for me to execute. WITHOUT compromising what they wanted for their wedding and how they wanted to go about making it happen. The perfect blend.

Ashley had a moderate amount of decor, enough that I could manage solo (which is what I prefer) along with diagrams and pictures of what the set up should look like.

Lovely.

And so their wedding day was really a highlight of the two of them. Of their families and friends coming together to celebrate. And it totally shows.

6 THINGS WE CAN LEARN FROM TOM + ASHLEY:

You both are getting married, you both should have your opinion heard. Listen like you mean it.
Reusing votives with already burned candles is a great way to save money, just have someone (me) drop in fresh candles when the old ones are burnt out. Save the Earth one mercury votive at a time.
If you are opting for a donut bar (or any dessert set up) please have the bakery set up with their platters. Not to be a d*ck but they will seriously do a better job than any of us can, and they have the appropriate sized platters and stands etc. etc.
Make sure you confirm a room layout with table numbers. Your venue might create one for you but catering and whomever is placing table numbers, those people need it and they need it numbered. Go one step further and list out VIP tables, like immediate family, so those people get served first (or dismissed for the buffet first).
Even if it is chilly, have your ceremony outside as planned. DO IT.
